I REFER to Nadia Kleynhaus’s letter “Callous treatment of injured dog shocks.” I would like to set the record straight.
I did not drive away from the accident scene. I was so upset after hitting the husky that I was too shocked to drive.
We asked if the dog was okay and she replied in the affirmative, whereafter I swopped seats with my passenger and left.
The owners of the dog are welcome to contact me, as I will pay for the hospital fee.
But now my question is: who will pay for the damage to my car?
The dog was supposed to be at home or on a leash!
