Gold for local wine

A local winery, Chamonix in Franschhoek, shone at the Chardonnay du Monde competition in France with a gold medal.
Chardonnay du Monde is an annual international competition exclusively for Chardonnay wines from winemaking countries all over the world being hosted in Burgundy, France.
Chamonix’s 2003 Chardonnay received a gold medal (one of only four in South Africa), while the Glen Carlou 2004 Chardonnay Reserve and the KWV 2004 Chardonnay each won a silver medal.
Other gold medal winners were Weltevrede, Bon Courage and Paul Cluver Wines.
