A LARGE number of the Paarl Canoe Club junior paddlers, who took part in the recent Western Cape Junior Canoe Sprint Championships in Paarl, are on their way to the SA Schools Sprint Championships in KwaZulu-Natal over this coming weekend.

Much of the credit must go to their coach, Paarl’s Wayne Afrika, for the excellent work that he puts in with his young charges.

The paddlers who will take part are, Boys u.18 - Luke Stowman, Jerome Willemse, Pierre van der Westhuyzen, Luca Ceruti and Miko von Palace,

Girls u.18 - Jana Koch and She-Earl de Wee, Boys u.10 - Kelvin Swanepoel and Luc van der Westhuyzen.

Girls u.10 - Rebecca Meihuizen, Boys u.12 - Peter Meihuizen, Thomas Pretorius, Nicholas Howes and Pieter-Lee Julies, Girls u.12 - Justine Williams, Jermaine Goeieman and Bonita Adams,

Boys u.14 - Bradley Ruiters, Jean van der Westhuyzen and David Meihuizen, Boys u.16 - Michael-Lee Farringer, Daniel Buys and Daniel Pretorius, Girls u.16 - Martine Beukes and Elmien Pietersen
