THE Absa Top 10 Pinotage competition has kicked off with participants being invited to enter for this prestige competition.
This competition was started by the Pinotage Association in 1997 and it has grown in status and popularity over the last few years.
The producers who found themselves amongst the Top 10 Pinotages in 2010 were Altydgedacht, Anura, Fairview, Flagstone, Kaapzicht, Lyngrove, Rijk’s, Welbedacht, Die Laan and Wildekrans.
The aim of the competition is not only to improve the quality of the variety, but also to generate interest amongst the broader public.
The judging for the 2011 Absa Top 10 competition will take place on 6, 7 and 8 July, and the winners will be announced on 25 August.
