FAIRVIEW cheeses took home six first prize awards at this year’s South African National Dairy Championships.
A further eight second and six third place prizes were also awarded to this highly acclaimed Paarl cheesery.
Awarding prizes for outstanding production of quality dairy products, Fairview scooped awards for the cheeses La Beryl, Blue Tower, Bleu en Blanc, Cambozola Chevin with Black Pepper, Paprika and Caraway Cheese.
“A good all-round performance,” said Louis Lourens, Fairview cheese-maker.
“It was also encouraging to see our new innovative cheeses receiving a number of second prizes, and a first prize.”
Fairview’s own dedicated cheese team has been hard at work, developing new and inventive cheeses, some of which are currently on sale at theirtasting room.
Previous winners at the South African National Dairy Championships include the Roydon Camembert and Blue Rock, to mention but a few.
