IT was with amusement that I read the letter of the DA Mayoral candidate in last week’s Paarl Post. By her own admission she has only recently toured the area of Drakenstein (for the first time?).
Where was she all of these years when people had no access to sanitation, clean drinking water, tarred roads in most residential areas or proper housing?
Wouldn’t it have been great if she had joined the masses of the poor and disenfranchised who were struggling for a decent life and for the authorities to treat them with decency.
Indeed: where was Gesie van Deventer? In contrast, the ANC candidates have proven track records of service to our people and have always put the needs of the people first.
