Sport federations received money

Last week 23 sport and recreation federations in the Boland region received an amount of R455 000 from the Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport of the Western Cape.
Dr Ivan Meyer, the provincial minister of Cultural Affairs and Sport, handed over the money. The funds are intended for development of sport, purchasing of equipment and travelling to national events.
Dr Meyer highlighted the role played by sport and recreation federations in building social cohesion.
