Attacked in Mbekweni

A Mbekweni man, alleged to be a thief, was attacked by residents of Thembani2 informal settlement last week.
The suspect is accused of terrorising the area, committing burglaries and taking money from children when they are sent to the shop.
The man was seriously injured and hospitalised.
When his alleged attacker was arrested, the community was up in arms and about 60 people went to the police station on Friday night, insisting that they also be arrested.
