Paarlite wins trophy
2005-10-20
THE results of Winemakers’ Choice, the only wine award show in South Africa judged exclusively by winemakers, were recently announced.
Paarlite Jacques Borman’s Boschkloof Syrah 2004 was voted the top red wine. Boschkloof Reserve 2000 also won a diamond award.
The other trophy winners were Klein Zalze (best producer) and Steenberg Semillon 2005 (best white wine).
Winemakers’ Choice’s jury consisted of many of the finest winemakers in South Africa, who judged in panels of five, each panel convened by the winemaker judged to be most expert in each respective category.
Only about 10% of entrants win Winemakers’ Choice Diamond Awards.
