Paarl swamps Koelenhof 11-0
2011-06-30
IN his first match for Paarl Soccer u.18 soccer team, Esley Hennings hit five goals as the Paarl club swamped Koelenhoff in an eleven goal romp last Saturday. The speed of Hennings was too much for the home side as he cut through the Koelenhof defence at will to score his goals. Suhail Seria weighed in with two more goals, Dylan Carollisen hit two and Giovanni Johannes and Shane Williams grabbed one apiece. The away side could have scored more goals, but missed a string of chances, while at the other end, when Paarl goalkeeper Chadwin Volmink was called into action, he again produced a number of top class saves to keep a clean sheet. Coach Robbie Meyer was pleased with the result, but warned the players of more serious challenges to come later in the season with the likes of Maties, Jamestown and Nelsons. “These teams are easily the equivalent of Ajax juniors, so we will have to perform to our best to beat them.” Players interested in joining Paarl Soccer Club, may contact Tony Litchfield on 084 515 1416. Training takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 17:00 to 18:30.
