SIMONSVLEI International has joined the packaging revolution heading for more eco-friendly alternatives with the introduction of PET packaging for their Simonsvlei Lifestyle range.
Wine lovers can now enjoy their favourite Simonsvlei wines, while lending Mother Nature a helping hand.
The multi-layered PET (polyethylene terephthalate) bottle has the same transparency and aesthetic appeal as glass, but the lightweight packaging made from thermoplastic polymer resin is responsible for an 85% reduction in packaging weight.
Made from 100% recyclable plastic, the bottles are shatterproof, which makes it ideal for outdoor consumption and convenient for travelling.
The PET packaging leads to a significantly smaller carbon footprint with considerably reduced CO2 emissions and energy consumption during manufacturing.
The Simonsvlei Lifestyle range includes a Cabernet Sauvignon and a Chenin Blanc.
) Avondale, a family-owned and managed wine estate near Paarl, has announced the launch of its all new nature-friendly packaging for its range of premium wines.
Avondale employs a unique mix of organic and biodynamic farming methods combined with the latest advances in modern science - an approach they have trademarked, BioLogic - to create a range of nature-friendly wines of the highest quality, now accompanied by nature-friendly packaging.
The packaging redesign sees all packaging material being replaced by recycled or nature-friendly materials, including FSC-accredited natural cork. The new bottles are lighter, offering a lower carbon footprint.
