Paarl's 'ou toppies' win 6-2
2011-07-07
THE over 35 team of Paarl Soccer Club gave Elsies River Utd a soccer lesson when they met on the Boy Louw sports ground last Friday. They won 6-2. The home team started like a house on fire and took the lead as soon as the 7th minute into the match. With clearly more purposeful play by especially Martin Minnaar, it was soon clear that the away team had very little answers to his dribbling and speed on the wing. With the score at 3-0 at the break, the manager of Paarl S.C. had very little to complain about. Minnaar was rewarded for his effort by scoring a well taken goal received after good interplay and quality passing started by the man of the match, Abe Keet, who was in superb form at the back of defense. He was involved in a few movements that started from the defense and also ensured that Johan Adams added another one to the tally for the evening.
