Cemetery expansion

Cemetery expansion

2011-07-07

THE Drakenstein Municipality plans to expand the Parys Cemetery in Paarl in an easterly direction, as there is a dire need for additional burial space.

The expanded cemetery will incorporate 7,6 hectares of government property to the east of the cemetery.

The expansion project will include a formalised gated entrance in Langenhoven Avenue, a new office and ablution block, as well as fencing of the entire property and general upgrading of the current cemetery.

The basic assessment report can be viewed at the Paarl public library in Mill Street from tomorrow.

Interested and affected parties are invited to provide written comments (which must include the reference number EG/12/2/4/1-B3/28-1063/11).

Send comments to Claire Blanche of Kayad Knight Piésold, PO Box 381, Century City on fax 021 555 0660 or cblanche@knightpiesold.com.
