ON 18 July South Africans will celebrate Mandela Day and as part of the day’s celebrations South Africans are asked to devote 67 minutes of their time to doing good in the community.
From showing your love to a child in need, to helping out at a local charity, South Africans have a lot of ways of reaching out to others.
One of the projects planned for Monday is to serve meals to needy senior citizens and children.
Drakenstein Prison, along with the Cape Winelands District Municipality and Cape Town Routes Unlimited have joined forces by getting a team of local celebrity chefs to prepare meals that Madiba was served during his incarceration.
The food will be served to 67 senior citizens, 67 farmworkers and 67 school children in honour of the international 67 Minutes for Mandela campaign.
