WE have noted a complaint from a reader that the recently refurbished Paarl Hospital is as yet unable to perform eye surgery.
I would like to inform readers that Paarl Hospital is in the process of procuring all the instruments required to perform eye surgery.
Some of the instruments procured are being delivered from overseas. As soon as all the instruments are received, we will commence eye surgery in August.
In the mean time, Paarl Hospital will continue to refer eye emergencies to Tygerberg Hospital.
We appeal to patients to be patient and understanding, as this will be a new service implemented at Paarl Hospital.
