2011-07-21
LOCAL Wellington rider, Cornel Kannemeyer, racing for Team Water Rite Racing on a Kawasaki KFX450, was one of only 9 off-road quad competitors who could manage to complete the extremely wet and muddy BELL 400 off-road race, the fourth round of the 2011 South African National Off-road Motorcycle Championship that took place outside Hluhluwe in KZN.
He finished 5th overall and has now moved into the 5th place on the national overall quad championship with two more races to go.
He started the race in 11th place after the 40 km time-trial on Friday, 15 July, that determined the starting order of Saturday’s 360 km race. The race consisted of 2x 90 km loops they had to complete twice.
