* KN. Die oudstudente van Klein Nederburg Sekondêr vergader vanaand om 19:00 by die skool. Die oudstudente-wedstryde asook die Big Brag sal bespreek word.
* Versiering. Die Suid-Afrikaanse Koekversierdersgilde vergader op 15 Augustus om 17:30 by Laerskool Drakenstein se klubhuis. Kinderpartytjie- idees word deur Sanli Alberts gedemonstreer. Vir navrae, skakel Juanita by 083 264 9834 of Dawn by 082 785 0811.
* Cellar tour and lunch. Joostenberg Winery and Bistro will be hosting a cellar tour with wine maker, Tyrrel Myburgh on 6 Augusts at 10:30. Afterwards there will be a food and wine pairing lunch (13:00). This will take place on the first Saturday of every month and every Saturday will have a different theme according to season and the wine-making process. The first theme will be “Winter in the Vineyards” where you will be able to observe the beautiful colours and resting of the vines and maybe try your hand at pruning. The cost is R155 per person and bookings can be made with Nadia Human at winetasting@joostenberg.co.za or 021 884 4141.
* Bridal Fair. The Winelands Bridal Fair, a bridal and special occasions expo will take place at Spier outside Stellenbosch on 20 August (09:00–17:30) and 21 August from (09:00–17:00). Daily at 11:00 and 15:00 there will be fashion show by top South African designers. The entrance fee is R70 (free for children under 12 years). Tickets can be bought at the door.
* Mathews Phosa-lesing. Oudpres. F.W de Klerk is vanjaar die gasspreker by die Taalmuseum en -monument se Mathews Phosa-lesing op 11 Augustus by die Historium-konferensiesentrum in Pastorielaan, Paarl. Die onderwerp is “Die plek van Afrikaans in die nuwe Suid-Afrika.
