THE road between Paarl and Klapmuts is a total mess, and the same Brink & Heath who work on the R301 are the culprits here.
The road works have been in progress since January 2011, closing one side and working at spot-fixing, then closing the other and doing the same.
The road is much worse than it was before work commenced and the labour is seldom found attending to the task at hand.
The bicycle traffic along the road has also reduced due the worsened condition of the repair sections.
Frequent enquiries of Brink & Heath have amounted to nothing and a discussion with the inspectors revealed that the tender was granted to Brink & Heath because they were the cheapest although not their preferred contractor.
Our vehicles have been splattered with tar and necessitated fitting flaps to prevent further damage.
Loose stones are strewn all along the road and the paintwork on our cars has been noticeably damaged.
The entrances to properties along this road are given concrete shoulders but the trench dug is left as is for weeks on end with- out the concrete fill, so much so that we are forced to fill ours each Friday to ensure our visitors do not damage their vehicles, to have it dug up again at the beginning of the new week.
When will someone help?
