IN a tough match over the weekend Paarl u.17 soccer teams claimed a 3-2 victory against Mbekweni United on the Mbekweni A-field.

The home team is well known for its soccer skills and players got off to a good start by scoring quickly, but the Paarl team fought back with a goal from Dylan Carolissen. A flowing game saw both teams miss good scoring opportunities, but it was the home side that took the lead just before the break.

In the second half Paarl came out strong­ly and captain Lyle van Rooyen hit an excellent equaliser. The Mbekweni team continued to press and were unlucky not to score again.

Shortly before the final whistle Dylan Carolissen scored again to claim a win for the away team. This was his 10th goal of the season. The Mbekweni goals were from Bathandwa and Luvo.
