WE, the public, are being held hostage by the unions in their strike disputes. Every time they want more pay, we have to clean up the mess, suffer losses and face danger to life and limb.
Why do unions think they have the right to endanger the public simply because they are dissatisfied? Is my life worth less than their wage disputes?
Strikes have become an excuse for looting, violence and loss of working hours, things our country can ill afford and the small businessman even less.
On top of this they still demand more pay and better working conditions! They have proven themselves unsuited to be treated as adults and responsible citizens.
It is clear that unions are nothing else but bullies who will use any means possible to achieve their goals, regardless of the damage they cause in the process.
For long enough the authorities have sat on the sidelines and just accepted this situation.
It has become time that the police will act with force against this behaviour. It is also time that authorities start recording visual images of strikes as a general rule. Surely it will be easy to identify the perpetrators as they are all union members.
A process where the union is forced to identify violent members afterwards, will soon corner a lot of the problems.
Unions should also be financially responsible for damages leading from their strikes, not the public as it is at present.
After all – if it wasn’t for the strike there would have been no violence, damage and chaos.
It is time for authorities to call the bluff of the unions and start making them responsible for the results of their actions.
We can no longer financially or emotionally afford this kind of hooliganism and thuggery that sprouts from so-called “strike actions”.
Mr President, Ms Mayor and Mr Police Chief, you can no longer look away and let it bleed because you are afraid to face the unions.
Deal with the problem at its root!
