WELLINGTON HIGH SCHOOL will stage its first Musical Revue, “African Kaleidoscope” from 5 to 9 September under the direction of Sheryl Hendricks.
African Kaleidoscope (text compiled by Sheryl) promises to entertain the young as well as the old. It addresses social issues such as HIV/Aids, racial prejudice and gender equality amongst others, yet the message comes across in a simplistic, yet striking way through the beautiful music, creative dancing and revolutionary poetry of struggle veteran, Dr Don Mattera.
More than 60 learners of Wellington High combined with solo artists and 30 learners (OVC-orphans and vulnerable children) from Langabuya Primary form part of this energetic cast.
The music and dance stretches over various genres (classical, traditional, hip-hop, kwaito to Kaapse klopse). The choreography is done by Gordon Festus.
For bookings and futher infomation on the revue, contact the school on 021 873 6427, Sheryl at 071 839 4249 or Gordon at 073 348 4379.
