I was reading with interest Charmaine Manuel’s letter published in the Paarl Post on 1 September 2011.
Dear Charmaine, in your letter and I quote “may also contribute to fruitless and wasteful expenditure”, I am impressed with your focus on cost savings.
As a ratepayer I would really appreciate it if you would be able to enlighten me on the following issues:
• How many Drakenstein councillors went overseas prior to the Soccer World Cup?
• What was the total expenditure of these so called fact-finding missions?
• What was the ROI (return on investment)?
