Prime Paarl land under gavel

Prime Paarl land under gavel

2005-11-10

The property lying within the circle of the new N1 off-ramp to Cecilia Street and Paarl Mall, goes on auction today at 11:00

The 7,412 square metre plot contains an historical building believed to have been built in the 1700’s. The gable of the old farmstead’s T-shaped house is dated 1812.

Its loft windows and exquisite fretwork are characteristic of Paarl buildings of that time. Various outbuildings surround it, including six relatively modern residential units.

The land is situated next to the N1, with the KWV vineyards to the north and the Berg River immediately to the north-east.

“This makes it prime land for developers seeking to capitalise on the Paarl Mall’s monumental initial success,” says Kim Faclier of Auction Alliance.

“The developers have bought the site from the owner, Dr Pietie van Aarde, and will now sell it onto the successful bidder.”

Currently the zoning of the land is for single residential and group housing.
