ABOUT 150 second phase plots in the R2 billion Val de Vie Winelands Lifestyle Estate development outside Paarl have sold out before the public launch originally scheduled for the end of October.

This follows the sell-out of 220 phase one plots within two weeks in October last year, according to developer, the Gatekeeper Group.

To cater for demand, Gatekeeper has elected to make 25 of the most exclusive plots available for those desperate not to miss out on this impressive development.

These prime opportunities border both the Berg River and the biggest vineyards on the estate. Prime plots will range in sizes up to 2 000 m˛.

“We have invested significantly in researching the critical success differentiators of international luxury estates. Val de Vie is not only a unique lifestyle opportunity on any terms worldwide, but comparable with the best that the overseas market can offer,” says Martin Venter, Managing Director of Gatekeeper.

Venter attributes investor demand at Val de Vie to the development being the first of its kind to offer the combination of estate living surrounded by vineyards, the Berg River and mountains, with a polo culture.

“There are so many attributable factors that played a role in this success story, including the rich heritage and landscape value of Val de Vie, as well as the dev- elopment securing all necessary prior approvals for rezoning and subdivision,” he says.

Venter says that investors are ensured of an excellent opportunity due to the fact that a major part of this exclusive valley, is in the process of being proclaimed a World Heritage Site – therefore similar developments are likely not to be seen again in the area.

The estate is also located between two of the areas most prestigious golf estates – Pearl Valley Golf Estate and Boschenmeer Golf Estate.

The Val de Vie estate will offer polo fields, a gym, a 25m swimming pool, tennis courts, squash courts, a restaurant, a fully operational historic wine cellar (built in 1825), state of the art security and privacy, on-site medical assistance and everything one can expect from luxury living that will provide a daily opportunity to excite the senses.

Val de Vie will also function as a fully operational wine farm, producing the finest Rhone Valley boutique wines for sale and export, while property owners will be able to enjoy a monthly quota.
The Manor House, located in the vicinity of the restaurant and polo fields, will also be transformed into a guest-house, with Val de Vie wine tasting experiences available to visitors.

The first wine to be produced by Val de Vie, the Founder’s Selection, was launched at WineX in Johannesburg last month.

“Many of our investors are coming to Val de Vie to live their dream of sitting on a Cape verandah, enjoying a glass of red or white with family and friends while overlooking the vineyards where the grapes originated,” says Venter.

The polo experience will form an integral part of the estate.
