Woman attacked

“BE alert at all times when in and around your home,” warned Insp Julia Claasen after a 35-year-old woman was attacked in her house in Dorp Street, Paarl.
The incident occurred when two men forcefully gained entry into the house, holding the woman hostage at knife point in her kitchen.
They demanded money, and after she handed over R2500 in cash, she was cut on her wrist before the men fled.
The victim’s two young sons were asleep at the time of the attack.
The one assailant has a fair complexion with a goatee, thick lips and blonde hair. He wore a check shirt with a black plastic bag over it.
The other man has a darker complexion, a bruised left finger-nail and wore tight-fitting black clothes.
Insp Claasen said that especially women must be cautious and ensure that their homes are secure at all times.
