The legend is back

The legend is back

THE legend is back! Actually, he never went anywhere.

Selwyn Bartlett (aka DJ Selwyn) has always been around the town and beyond, bringing you the best nightlife entertainment.

He will be appearing at Sinatra’s (formerly known as Tropical Heat in Paarl) this Saturday and on Thursday 15 December, and will be giving away spot prizes from Sony/BMG.

Since the age of five years Bartlett has always been entertaining, playing records at family functions and clinging to his dream to be a DJ.

His first break came in 1983 when he wrecked the decks at Tiffany’s, Paarl, then he was at Club Nouveau, Wellington for three years, honing his skills to near-perfection.

From there he toured the nation playing at all the hot super clubs such as Club Galaxy, Thriller, Cinnamon and 169 on Long.
And the reason he’s back?

Well, it seems the public can’t get enough of him and “also to show that I still have the skills and that I’ve also improved some skills,” he says.

“I’ve always been involved in entertainment, and really wanted to be a radio DJ,” he adds.

The start of the millennium saw him being Breakfast Show host on P4 104.9fm until 2002 (handing over the reins to Aden Thomas), and then he took up the greater task of being the Programming Director for P4 104.9.

He also runs his own private entertainment and broadcasting consultancy.
