THE Drakenstein Municipality, in partnership with local business, provides for the support of South African students to study at a South African University/Technikon in accordance with the Municipality’s long and short term skills requirement.

Applicants must have matriculated and have proof of acceptance for admission by the university and faculty.

Study fields that will be considered, are Engineering (Civil & Electric), Accounting, Tourism, Planning & Development and Public Health.

Costs covered could possibly include registration fees, tuition fees and books.

Bursaries will be for a maximum of three years for uninterrupted full-time undergraduate study only.

Students will have to pay back on cancellation. Employment contracts pending vacancies at the municipality will be entered into.

Application forms and further particulars can be obtained from the Training Section at 807-6215/6 or from the housing offices at Gouda, Saron, Wellington, Mbekweni or Paarl East during week days.

Your completed form must be accompanied by your matric results, and letter of acceptance with the provisional costs.

Proof of your parents’ employment details and residential address is also important.

The closing date for applications is 16 January. If you are not contacted within six weeks after the closing date - please note that you were not successful.

Please note when submitting your official completed application form the receiving official must sign the front page and give yourself a copy sheet for you to retain as proof that your application was indeed submitted.
