AN existing block of flats, Vooruitsig in Pastorie Avenue, is to be redeveloped and expanded by JEP Property Investments. The Municipality has also awarded a tender for development of additional parking on the square in front of the Afrikaanse Taalmuseum to the developer.

According to developer Johan Pauw, 23 bays on the south side of the square will be developed on two levels, with the top section on the same level as Main Street, and a lower basement level beneath that. Access will be gained to the upper level from Main Streetand to the lower level from Pastorie Avenue.

Objections, if any, should reach the municipal manager by 23 January.

* The land known as “Die Kraal” in Jan van Riebeeck Drive, Paarl, is to be rezoned for development as Die Kraal Shopping Centre by NuPlan Africa.

Part of the site of 4,82 hectares will be reserved for the extension of the night shelter (0,15 hectares), while a centre for the disabled will be developed on a third section (also 0,15 hectares). Objections if any, musst reach the municipal manager by Monday 23 January.

* A church conference centre is to be built in Langenhoven Drive, Paarl, next to the entrance to Klein Parys.

The municipal site of 30 000 square metres was sold to Valley Ministries by public tender and must now be rezoned. The centre will include accommodation for conference visitors.

Objections, if any, must reach the municipal manager by 23 January.
