Voters role closed

THE municipal elections will be held on Wednesday 1 March. The voters’ roll has closed and one can no longer register to vote in the coming elections.
There are currently 34 political parties registered with the IEC at municipal level. The deadline for nomination of ward and party candidates is 19 January, the date on which deposits of R2000 must also be paid.
Voters will each receive three ballots: one for the ward candidate, one for the party, and one for proportional representation on the District Council.
