THE first Picnic Festival - with stalls and live music - will be held on Bien Donné Farm in Simondium in February.

Visitors can relax and linger on the lawns surrounded by oak trees, spend quality time with family and friends and enjoy the live background music performed by local artists.

Picnic bites and goodies can be purchased from the food and wine stalls.

The stalls include fine establishments such as De Volkskombuis Restaurant, Spier Deli, Boschendal, Zest Gourmet Foods, Pesto Princess, Ceres Fruit Juices, Simonsig Family Vineyards, Ashanti Wine Estate, Eikendal Vineyards, Vrede en Lust and Rietvallei.

The organisers welcome exhibitors of food, wine and beverages, arts and crafts, outdoor adventure and camping products and any other related products.

The Picnic Festival is for the whole family and will run over three days from Friday 24 February to Sunday 26 February open daily from 11:00 to 20:00 and closing at 18:00 on the Sunday.

Tickets are available from the gates, Computicket and Shoprite Checkers at R45 per person. Children 12 and under enter for free.
