Oude Libertas: ‘Under Andalucian Skies’ word Sondag om 18:00 aangebied en is ’n vermenging van tradisionele en nuwe ‘flamjazz’ deur top SA Flamingo kitaarspeler Saudiq Khan en sy band, Casta Alma.
Comedy: The classic war time farce “See How They Run” returns to the stage one more time with Rex Garner and nine other actors. The Philip King comedy is presented by Pieter Toerien at Theatre on the Bay.
Jazz: “Jazz on Friday” will take place every Friday evening until 31 March at the La Grange Gallery & Fromagerie Restaurant,13 Danel Hugo Street in Franschhoek. The La Fromagerie Jazz Band will play from 17:30 to 20:30 and the cost is R100 per couple which includes a bottle of wine. Cheese platters will be available for R60/platter. Bookings are recommended and the tables will be held until 18:00. Phone 876-2155.
Jazz: Rus Nerwich has returned from Buenos Aires to once again treat jazz enthusiasts to true listening pleasure. This Trio breaks tradition, following a unique and challenging format mixing double base, saxophone and drums. Twee Klaviere Konsert: Oude Libertas op Stellenbosch bied 3 en 4 Februarie dié produksie aan, met Nina Schumann en Luis Magalhaes. Terwyl albei gereeld optree as solo-pianiste, is hul as duo bekend vir hul virtuositeit, uitstaande ensemble asook passievolle musikaliteit en ongewone repertorium.
Spier: Opera at Spier presented by Nedbank comprises a Spier Arts Trust commission of “Pulcinella” (a new opera by Martinus Basson) and “Princess Magogo”. Pulcinella is an Italian Baroque Melody by Igor Stravinsky, and Marthinus Basson creates a new production of ‘ballet with song’. dancer Mark Hoeben and soprano Zanne Stapelberg (10, 11 and 16-18 February).
