Tourism conference
2006-02-09
A WINE and food tourism conference will be held at the Nelson’s Creek Wine Estate in Paarl from 10 to 12 April.
It is organised by Cape Town Routes Unlimited, the International Culinary Tourism Association, Fedhasa and Thebe Conferences.
The conference has been initiated to help wineries, restaurants, tour operators, hotels and guest houses benefit from the opportunities wine and food tourism offer.
Among the guest speakers are Dr Johan Bruwer (co-ordinator of the Wine Business Group at the University of Adelaide in Australia), Paul Chambers (chairperson of the Winemakers Federation of Australia) and Erik Wolf (president of the International Culinary Tourism Association).
The organisers are confident that this will become a regular feature on the agenda and will add much needed focus on wine and food tourism, for people in the wine trade, restaurants, hospitality as well as the tourism industries.
