Pearl Valley selling fast
2006-02-16
RECORD-BREAKING sales in excess of R135 million have been achieved during the last quarter of 2005, at the 212 hectare Pearl Valley Signature Golf Estate south of Paarl.
The sales included a selection of complete homes and residential plots, as well as 30 of the first 36 Resort Lodges which were launched off-plan in August last year.
Almost 90% of the 500 residential plots at Pearl Valley have now been sold. Properties are generously sized between 1100 and 2800m², ranging in price between R1,295 million and R3 million, with uninterrupted views across fairways, greens and water features. The self-contained sectional title Resort Lodges offer a choice between three and four bedroom units, selling from R2,2 million. Ninety Resort Lodges will be built at Pearl Valley.
The purchase of a Resort Lodge entitles the buyer to golf membership and access to all amenities on the estate.
Construction of the 6 500 m² state-of-the-art Lifestyle Centre is making good progress. At completion of this leisure complex in May this year, the Pearl Valley development will be valued in excess of R1 billion.
Designed to offer residents a superb family lifestyle, the Lifestyle Centre will feature the new golf club house, a gymnasium, health and beauty parlour, children’s entertainment centre, swimming pools, an arts and crafts centre, a business centre and restaurant. Other estate facilities which are already in operation include the acclaimed Pearl Valley Equestrian Centre, the riverside Boma, as well as a paintball zone and quad biking area for teenagers.
Earlier this month, the Jack Nicklaus designed Pearl Valley Golf course was rated number 8 in the country in Golf Digest’s ‘Top 100 Golf Courses in South Africa’, and no 3 in the ‘Best Conditioned Golf Courses’ category, as well as 5th ‘New Golf Course’ overall.
Pearl Valley has made a major contribution to the local community in terms of infrastructure with the completion of a water treatment plant, a reservoir and improvements to water and electricity lines. It has also created many direct employment opportunities through landscaping, maintenance, residential, golf and estate activities, and indirect employment through various contractors and subcontractors. Future plans include further rehabilitation of the previously mined, poor agricultural quality land of the estate.
Application has been made to develop an additional golf course on Pearl Valley, together with a residential and agricultural component, and a unique ‘fynbos’ corridor which could be the last of its type.
