Robbers hit hotel

AN 85-year-old woman was severely injured on Saturday night during an armed robbery at the Gouda Hotel.
Six men stormed into the hotel at approximately 22:30 holding the staff and guests at gunpoint, while demanding money and valuables.
Guests were tied up with electrical cord and tape and threatened with their lives.
When the elderly woman put up a struggle, one of the men hit her numerous times on the head with his handgun causing a gaping wound.
An unknown amount of money was taken from the hotel safe, as well as money, jewellery and cellphones from the guests, before they fled on foot.
A man-hunt was launched by the police who managed to arrest three of the suspects while they were attempting to leave Gouda.
They men, from Khayelitsha, were found with some of the stolen goods in their possession.
The search continues for the other three fugitives.
The injured woman was treated in a local hospital.
