THE DestrucTour 2006, featuring Mind Assault and Sacrifist, took place at Klapmuts over the weekend.
Joining them for the Lanners' Landing set on Saturday were Paarl metallers, Tungsten.
The DestrucTour bands have played throughout South Africa over the last few weeks and their arrival in Paarl was nothing short of spectacular.
Tungsten, as the ‘little guys’ compared to their titanic headlining peers, opted as the openers and played the first slot of the evening.
Evidently, playing first at any festival could mean sparse attendance
for a band, but Tungsten’s performance was admirable and were well-supported by friends and fans, alike.
Next up were melodic death metal sensations, Sacrifist, who won-over many fans with their flashy guitar-work, guttural vocals and driving rhythm-section.
Co-headliners, Mind Assault, next graced the stage with their own original twist of South African heavy metal.
