PASSENGERS aboard Swiss International Air Lines consume about 1,2 million bottles of wine a month. That’s an average of 3333 bottles per day.

Imagine that those bottles were produced by your winery. Now, imagine no more, because your wines stand a real chance of going global.

If you have not yet entered your wines in the Swiss International Air Lines Wine Awards 2006, that forms part of the Cape Gourmet Festival, your time is running out.

Now in its 4th year, it is the only wine awards programme in South Africa that offers such vast local and international networking opportunities. Judging takes place at the luxury Cellars-Hohenort Hotel in Cape Town from 18 to 21 April.

Judged on international standards, the Swiss International Air Lines Wine Awards is a unique competition focusing on exposing South African wineries to major retail chains and suppliers around the world.

This is your chance, your once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to put your wine on the world map; to put South African wine on the world map.
In 2005 a total of seven South African wines were selected from the Swiss International Air Lines Wine Awards, to be served to first-class passengers aboard Swiss International Air Lines flights around the world.

The awards also feature an exclusive food and wine pairing component, which forms part of the judging criteria. Robert Joseph, founder and editor of Wine Magazine UK, will lead the judging panel, consisting of wine masters and buyers from Picardi Rebel, Woolworths and Marks & Spencers.

As an award-winner you are entitled to exhibit in the exclusive Swiss International Air Lines Award-Winner Pavilion at South Africa’s premier food, wine and lifestyle event, the winter Good Food & Wine Show®, at the Cape Town International Convention Centre from 18 to 21 May.
