THE Cape Town based Fidentia Group has announced the launch of a multi-million rand bursary fund to assist deserving students to further their education in the fields of finance, law, engineering, hotel management, computer science and information technology.

The bursaries cover all tuition and study material costs as well as a monthly stipend for living expenses. Application forms are available at financial aid offices at all South African universities or call the Fidentia contact centre on 0860-878-784.

“We are pleased to announce this bursary scheme,” says Fidentia Group executive chairman J Arthur W Brown. “This is part of our philosophy of responsible capitalism.”

The Bursary Fund will be open to all applicants who have completed grade 12 with a university exemption or been accepted by a university.

Fidentia Group expects to grant upwards of fifty bursaries this year according to Fidentia’s non-executive director, Dr Danisa Baloyi, who welcomed the initiative to assist with financing tertiary education.

Graduates will be offered employment with the Fidentia Group for a period equivalent to the bursary.

“This will also allow graduates to get that initial work experience under their belts.”
