Flames kill two

A MAN and woman died in a fire which swept through Fairyland on Saturday night.
The fire broke out near Bartholomeus Street at approximately 22:30, when a paraffin stove apparently toppled over.
Richard Mandi (35) and Nozavahse Spielman (32) burnt to death while asleep in one of the shacks.
Five shacks burnt to the ground, leaving more than twenty people homeless.
The prompt reaction of the fire brigade prevented the fire from spreading even further and causing more damage.
The survivors of the fire have been temporarily housed in the Fairyland Community Hall, while they pick up the pieces of their lives.
