Young golfers show their mettle

THE Boland Division of the South African Golf Foundation will be hosting the SA Junior Strokeplay Championship at the Devonvale Golf Club next week.
The strokeplay competition will be played on Monday and Tuesday, followed by the SA Junior Matchplay Championship from Wednesday to Friday.
The Strokeplay Championship consists of 72 holes played in strokeplay format over the first two days. The best 32 players in this competition will qualify for the Matchplay Championship.
The championship is an invitational event open to the top 108 u.18 golfers in SA.
The winner of the Strokeplay Championship wins the Championship Trophy, as well as an invitation to play in the Duke of York Young Champions Trophy Tournament in England, sponsored by Dale Hayes.
The winner of the Matchplay competition wins the Matchplay Championship Trophy.
