2006-03-30
A SERVICE of the Cross of Nails, led by Archbishop Desmond Tutu, will be held at the Ascension Anglican Church in Klein Drakenstein on Easter Sunday 16 April at 10:00. The service will be televised.
The service forms part of the Cross of Nails Youth Conference which will be held for the first time in South Africa.
Delegates from 35 countries are expected to attend the conference in Cape Town.
The Cross of Nails, made from nails found in Coventry Cathedral after it was bombed during the Second World War, has became a symbol of reconciliation and forgiveness world wide.
Ascension Church became a centre of the Cross of Nails in 2004, for their work done in reconciliation.
