Boekpraatjies: Antjie Krog sal Saterdag om 11:00 in Protea Boekwinkel (Stellenbosch) gesels oor haar nuutste digbundel “Verweerskrif”. As gevolg van die langnaweek is daar geen spreker op 15 April nie. Die daaropvolgende naweek (22 April) praat Anton van Niekerk oor sy boek “Geloof sonder sekerhede”. Comedy: Love in Cyberspace can be seen at the Artscape Arena from 11 to 15 April. Cyril, a “queen” from the Cape flats, meets Vladimere Shotokvich, a straight Russian man, via the internet by pretending to be a girl. Ballet: Swan Lake will be in the Artscape Opera House from 12 to 23 April. The St Petersburg Ballet is to dance to the dramatic music of Tchaikovsky. Book at Artscape Dial-A-Seat at 421-7695 or Computicket.
Spier: Angelique Kidjo performs at Spier on Easter Sunday, along with local icons such as Watershed, Chris Chameleon, Vusi Mahlasela and Robin Auld. Old Mutual and Oppikoppi Productions joined forces to bring the Encounters Festival to Spier. A children's entertainment area will also be in operation. The music can be enjoyed with a relaxing picnic. Tickets are R150 (R50 for the first child in the family under 12, the rest go free) and can be bought from Computicket.
