Wine and art auctioned
2006-04-06
THE Rotary Club of Paarl will be conducting its Fourth Annual Rotary Wine, Art and Jewellery Auction on Sunday 23 April at the Joostenberg Conference Centre, Muldersvlei, just off the N1 (near Stellenbosch).
An exceptional array of wines, complemented by a fine collection of paintings, sculptures and jewellery, will go on auction this year.
The inimitable Beyers Truter, renowned champion wine maker, will once again be the auctioneer at this gala event.
The funds raised at this year’s Auction will, as did the proceeds of the 2004 and 2005 auctions, go towards the establishment by Paarl Rotary of a Community Care Centre in Paarl, the construction of which is already far advanced.
This very worthy project, at a cost of approximately R2,5 million, will provide a much needed haven where, primarily, abused women and children and victims of other forms of violence, can be accommodated, counselled and otherwise cared for until a more permanent solution can be found for them.
Registration for the Auction commences at 10:30 and the Auction itself will start at 11:00. Guests will also be entertained with live music.
Tickets are R180 pp including pre-lunch snacks, a sumptuous three course meal with mineral water and wine.
Bookings can be done with Maya Friederich @ 807-3007, fax 807-3119 or e-mail friederm @kwv.co.za. For further information contact Gerald Truter @ 082-559-8746 or e-mail queries @mountainshadows.co.za
