Special Easter service
2006-04-12
A SERVICE of the Cross of Nails, led by Archbishop Desmond Tutu, will be held at the Ascension Anglican Church in Klein Drakenstein on Easter Sunday, 16 April at 10:00. The service will be televised.
The service forms part of the Cross of Nails Youth Conference which is being held in South Africa for the first time.
Delegates from 35 countries are to attend the conference in Cape Town.
The Cross of Nails, made from nails found in Coventry Cathedral after it was bombed during the Second World War, has become a symbol of reconciliation and forgiveness world-wide.
Ascension Church became a centre of the Cross of Nails in 2004, for their work in reconciliation.
