No crying for Boys’ in Argentina

THE first and second teams of Paarl Boys’ High had a very successful tour of Argentina during the recent school holidays.
The tour got off on a high note when the o.19B team beat the student team of Estudiantes of Parana 33-10.
The first team then crushed the La Salle Club of Sante Fé 46-8. The team then travelled to Cordoba to play in a tournament hosted by the local Jockey Club.
Each team had to play three matches of 40 minutes each over two days.
In the qualifying rounds the first team of PBH drew against Tucuman (14-14) and won Banco Rugby A and La Tablada 60-0 and 38-7.
The B team came away with victories over Banco Rugby B (57-0), Jockey Club (29-8) and Tegres (32-8).
The final was an all Paarl Boys’ High affair after the first team beat Potchefstroom Boys’ High 25-12 and the second team crushing Cordoba Athletic Club 41-7.
The first team beat their Paarl counterparts 24-12 to win the Gold Trophy.
PBH then travelled to Buenos Aires were they came up against the San Isidoro Rugby Club, regarded as one of the best teams in Argentina.
The second team won 13-5, whilst the A team secured a 8-0 victory in an extremely tough match.
