Paarl gets its chance to fame
2006-05-18
AN agency representing actors, characters and extras for film, television series, commercials and catalogues, has recently opened its doors in Paarl.
‘Act 3’ is the first agency in the whole of the Winelands and will specifically represent people in this area. Act 3 will also hold a database of film locations in the Winelands.
People needed for the increasing amount of filming in the Winelands have been transported from Cape Town at great expense to the production companies and other role players and for this reason the artists on Act 3’s books will be given preference by film makers, as they are already here and a logistical nightmare for the industry is alleviated.
Act 3 is owned by Delia and Anthony Kampf.
Delia will be well-known to those who frequented the family business, La Masseria Restaurant.
Anthony has been a professional actor for over 24 years. He played Vosloo in the second Kramer and Petersen production of “District Six” and Danny Zuko in “Grease” at the Baxter Theatre.
Anthony has featured in a number of South African and overseas advertisements and television series.
Act 3 is looking for all shapes, sizes, ages and ethnicity, to become part of the database of available talent.
Anthony gives free acting workshops to all artists who join Act 3 - the first agency to do so.
The registration fee of R200 ensures that each artist is marketed to the casting directors, film production companies, advertising agencies and overseas directors and gets showcased on the Actors Technology and Act 3 websites.
Phone Act 3 on 872-3239 for more information.
