THE Western Cape provincial contest for the Anglo American-Sowetan Young Communicators takes place in Wellington on Saturday 3 June.
The judging for the awards takes place from 10:00 at Hugenote Primary School, Hertzog Avenue.
Over the past decade, this competition has become a prestigious programme that uncovers the public speaking talent and potential leaders of the country.
Contestants are judged on English oral communication and presentation skills.
The competition is open to high school learners in grades 11 and 12 who do not speak English as a first or home language.
Contestants are required to deliver a prepared speech on a topic of their own choice as well as a short, impromptu speech.
The National finals will be held in Soweto on June 10.
