2005-04-14
EXCITEMENT is growing in Franschhoek in expectation of the evangelistic mission to be run by African Evangelistic Enterprises (AEE) and other agencies.
The mission will be held until Sunday April at 19:00.
Tomorrow it is in the Groendal Secondary School Hall and one today in the Franschhoek Town Hall.
The AEE team established by Dr Michael Cassidy has been doing missions throughout Africa for many decades.
The AEE team of missioners consists of Michael and Carol Cassidy, Piet Meiring (Professor in Missiology and TRC Commissioner), Debbie (and possibly) Kirsten, Mbulelo Hina, Songe Chibamba and Fikele Makananda (Methodist minister in Goodwood).
The Foxfire Team, a group of AEE young people dedicated to working with high school learners, will be ministering to the youth with music and drama.
At the same time a team from the Andrew Murray Centre in Wellington will undertake a mission at the Drakenstein Prison. During the week rallies will be held in the evenings while tea groups will be meeting at various homes in the mornings.
Special events will include a Ladies’ Garden Party, a Men’s Lunch, a Community Leader’s Breakfast and youth and children rallies. Ccontact Ninette Havenga at 876-3348 or 082-799-7551.
