Celebrate Youth Day

THE Drakenstein Council will host a programme celebrating the 30th anniversary of the June 16th youth uprisings.
A lively programme is planned for Friday at the Paarl Town Hall, Main Street, where everyone is invited to participate in interfaith service, drama, speakers, cultural events, music and refreshments.
The programme starts at 10:00 and among the speakers will be Minister of Finance, Trevor Manuel and Western Cape Police Commissioner, Mzwandile Petros.
There will also be performances by Pop Idol Ezra en Tucan Tucan.
Buses will be available to transport youth from various areas in Drakenstein to and from the Paarl Town Hall. The Executive Mayor, Charmaine Manuel, extended an open invitation to theyouth and all other sectors of the community to join and enjoy the festivities.
