New arts association

THE Artists’ Circle of Stellenbosch at its last meeting in March decided to dissolve - the main reason being to form a new association catering for the needs of not only artists, but also that of non-artists interested in the visual arts.
Presentations by art and culture historians and architects can then be enjoyed by artists as well as art lovers.
Other reasons for this step are to procure a venue in Stellenbosch where an active visual arts culture amongst members of all communities could develop and to establish branch membership with the South African National Association for the Visual Arts.
Members of the newly established Association of Arts Stellenbosch will receive a copy of the South African Art Times (which also includes news of international art events) on a monthly free subscription basis (postage included).
