Pinocchio comes to life
2006-06-29
THE magical show, Pinocchio, is being performed at the Baxter during the school holidays by the Lilliput Children’s Theatre Company until 15 July.
Shows are at 11:00 daily (except 6 July).
The fairytale is based on the original Carlo Collodi classic of the little wooden puppet who has to prove himself to be honest and trustworthy before he can become a real live boy, with help and guidance from Jiminy Cricket and the Blue Fairy.
Follow Pinocchio and Gepetto on their adventures to Pleasure Land, Stromboli’s Puppet Theatre and inside a whale.
Watch Pinocchio’s nose grow as he lies to Gepetto and see Jiminy Cricket magically turn into a life-size cricket.
The duration of the show is 45 minutes and is ideal for children aged two to 11.
Pinocchio was adapted and directed by the Baxter’s Elton John Duffy.
This production stars Taryn Luitingh as the Blue Fairy and Cat, Nikki Louw as Jiminy Cricket, Tanya van Tonder as Ferdie the Fox and Lampwick, Elton John Duffy as Gepetto and Stromboli and Sindi Harrison as Pinocchio.
Choreography is by Melani Johnson.
Tickets at R25 are available at Computicket or look on www.computicket.com.
